Mark your Music! Notes from our lovely choir secretary....

General Notes:
-          Practise looking up @ Joanne especially at beginning and end of lines/choruses
-          Look ahead down the line at the words so you know where your notes go, esp. at page turns!
-          Practise turning pages quietly
-          From here on in there will be no more ‘note pounding’ at practises…use practise videos on blog                        and if necessary Joanne will have extra practises at her home for individual sections.                           (Ask & it will be arranged for you without delay and most gladly:)
-        at the first practise we have in September a decision will be made whether or not we will meet weekly or bi-weekly until the concert.  Be there to weigh in on the decision.

Christ is Risen:
-          Q & A: - "what does ‘sing only 2nd time’ means on v. 1 and ch. 1?
.....Kristen will sing v. 1 & 2 + chorus 1x then we will repeat it
-          V. 1 – ‘our sin in sacrifice’, change to ‘through sacrifice’

Come People of the Risen King:
-          Pay attention to Joanne – lots of ‘t’ and ‘s’ endings

By Faith:
-          Note syncopated rhythm in chorus on ‘of’ (bar 22), ‘him’ (bar 24), ‘and’ (bar 26), ‘not’ (bar 28)
-          Emphasize the ‘k’ on work (bar 27) and walk (bar 28)

Simple Living:
-          Make sure you look up at Joanne at ‘grasp’ (bar 42 & 78),,,make a note for yourself.

Sing along Videos for * By Faith * Simple Living * See, What A Morning

By Faith sung right through along with our rehearsal pianist.
Thanks again Rita!

Simple Living verse 4 (same words as verse 3) Tenor & Bass in unison

Simple Living verse 3 (all voice parts in unison singing of melody)
followed by verse 4 (same words) in parts.  Watch that word "grasp"

See, What A Morning  - all voice parts from bar 17 to the end.
We took it real slow.
You did a very good job considering we were missing so many of our comrades!

Ah!  Man alive.
The instructional video (below) disappeared right off the blog in my editing process.
And worse than that, it might be too tricky to relocate it among the 16 separate videos uploaded by Lilly.
Phooey.  So sorry bass section.

                                      *Poof*  Gonzo.

See, What A Morning page 2 verse 3, Bass only
(special attention to the notes from bar 55-58) and then finished to the end.

See, What A Morning page 2 verse 3 Tenors only from there to the end!
Watch those high notes and think about grabbing that note from the back
of your head and not simply forcing it out the front.  Good work.

See, What A Morning
The whole thing with ALL the voice parts.  Yay!
Lots of hard work in that piece, and I'm particularly proud of the handful of basses who stood their ground and found their notes.  Keep up the good work fellas.

We have the luxury of a rehearsal pianist for the August rehearsals
(Yay! and welcome to Rita) which means:

Looking forward to singing with you.
