A thank you note from the Gettys

As we await His coming during this Advent season,
I pray you are well in body and spirit.
I remember the joy and the trials we shared in our choral community --- your child's fragile health, the terminal illness and even death of your family members - broken relationships & dreams...
In the midst of it all, we learn to yearn for His return.

That will be my Christmas wish for us all...

Got a pretty neat embossed piece of mail recently and while it happened to land in my mailbox, it belongs to the entire Getty Choir.  The Irish hand script is hard to read, so I will translate :)

"We just finished our tour last night at the Grand Ole Opry and wanted to write you a note to say thank you and your mega choir that graced the hall in Hamilton.  They were just wonderful.  Please let them also know how much we love the moose.  Thanks also for all the work you did making the concert happen - it was such a great night.  With grace & peace, Keith & Kristyn"

An unexpected but thrilling spin-off from the Getty Concert was an invitation from the folks at 100 Huntley Street to have 30 wee students of Covenant Christian School come to the studio to record two songs to air on CTS Television on Christmas Eve.

To say it was an incredible highlight is an understatement.  

What are your early life highlights?

I still relish the memory of singing in a Fine Arts Festival in grade six (led by THE coolest, guitar- strumming choir teacher ever!) and the vinyl record (uh-huh) that was produced from it.

So keep singing peeps.

You just never know where these things lead. 

Soon I am going to set a date and place for our reunion.
